Factors which contributed to the revolution were political, social and economic. Poor people wanted to have liberty and all people to be treated the same regardless of their social class. During the revolution, the dictatorship government did not care about the needs of the poor, and they continued to oppress them. The government was autocratic Monarch which made the common people pay high tax and excluded the Noble and Clergy Men from Paying (Taxes Doyle, 2018). The French revolution had the following positive effects in France; reforms in the constitution and parliament, land ownership reforms and the creation of equality through the destruction of the social class. Negative impacts of the revolution included economic decline, the relationship of France and other nations was affected, deaths and loss of property.

Statement of the problem

During the revolution in France, the social structures were divided into Clergy, Noblemen and Common people. Common people comprised of the peasants who had been oppressed and did not have their rights. The rights of the peasants who owned land had been violated and wanted their rights to own the land (Popkin, 2016). The Clergy used to own big learning institutions, and they were excluded from paying taxes. The Monarch government had unlimited powers, and they could manipulate anything they wanted. Those who were in leadership lived a luxurious life, and they were very extravagant. This lead to the existence of the social class, poor people paying a lot of taxes, unemployment, low payment of the workers and discriminations. The main purpose of the paper is to understand the consequence of the French Revolution in France.

Causes of the French Revolution

Miserable social conditions for the common people led to French Revolution. People in French were divided according to the social class such as Common people, Clergy and Noblemen. Clergy lived extravagant and scandalous lives, and they were excluded from paying taxes. They owned educational institutions, and the common people hated them because they used to exploit them (Goodwin, 2016). Noblemen also did not pay tax and did not consider the challenges that were faced by the common people. Similarly, common people had the largest population consisting of the sweepers, farmers, cobblers among others. They paid tax such as Gable, Tithe, and Taille. Common people influenced revolution in demand for their rights and fair treatment for all people. The second cause of the revolution was political whereby the Monarch government possessed unlimited powers. The leaders in the government were treated as God despite being extravagant and scandalous with the tax which was paid by the common people. Common people were frustrated with the defective administration, autocratic monarchy and extravagant expenditure hence demanding for the French revolution. The third cause of the French Revolution was an economic factor. The economic conditions during the French revolution were very poor because of Louis XVI foreign war and other expensive conflicts which had lasted for many years.

Consequences of the French revolution in France

The positive consequences of the French Revolution included; social class destruction is hence achieving equality for all people. The social class contributed to discriminations and made the common people be very hard. Equality was achieved after the destruction of the social class and promotion, or appointments were made based on the ability and talents of an individual. Common people acquired education and started taking a position in the government (Van et al, 2015). Furthermore, the French revolution contributed to man and citizens’ rights declaration, and the constitutional parliament was able to come with human rights document. The constitution guarded the freedom and the rights of the people. There was political liberty including freedom of owning property, press, worship, speech, and freedom of association. Revolution also led to functional parliament, and there was a democratic election for the representatives. Revolution also brought new land and ownership reforms. Everybody was able to own land after the revolution including the farmers and the sweepers.

The following were some of the negative impacts of French revolution In France. Many people died, and there was also the destruction of property. In the reigning terror, massacres affected clergy and noblemen more. There was the total breaking of the law and heavy massacres where people were killing each other as if it was a competition (Bernhofen et al, 2016). Moreover, there was a general economic decline which affected the progress of other activities such as transport and communication, agriculture, trade, and industrial production. Most of the people lost jobs because the environment was not suitable for people to travel; there was economic inflation as it became difficult to have access to the goods or services needed. Some of the conflicts led to the destruction of the communication lines, and everything was in a mess. Poverty and starvation also increased because people lost their jobs and getting access to food was not easy.

French revolution to other parts of the world

Due to conflicts during the revolution, the relationship with other states was destroyed. The French revolution was a threat to other states in Europe who had Monarch kind of powers because those who were oppressed by that Monarch government could easily use France strategy to eliminate it (Botting, 2016). Other states in Europe such as Britain did not want the common people to understand the idea of revolution because they would look for means to overthrow the Monarch government. After spreading the idea of revolution in Europe, revolutions were accompanied by a series of war which leads to the death of the people.
