PART II: The Research Takeaways
In 300-500 words (1.5-2 pages double-spaced), address the following:
· Identify what aspect/resource/area of the research you found most interesting.
· Discuss this area of your research.
· Explain how it fit(s) into your larger topic and how it adds to our understanding of this topic.
· Connect your research findings to the course material we’ve covered so far with 2-3 specific examples. (ie: did an image remind you of a theme covered in a reading, did an article address areas of work and labor that emerged in a discussion board or video?)
· Make connections between what you uncovered in making the Padlet and what we’ve uncovered in our course.
Part III: Questions for Further Learning
Identify three research questions that can be derived from your research. What questions about your topic remain areas for further exploration?
Research Question 1:
Research Question 2:
Research Question 3:
Research Questions: Context and Examples
Example: Say I researched child labor in the industrial era. I may have learned quite a bit, but did not find (nor have time) to explore food and medical care as it related to these children. A possible research question may be:
1. What foods did child factory workers eat? When did they eat?
2. What happened when they became sick or injured?
3. Did the labor movement involve child workers in their vision or demands?
These are just some examples of areas I may be curious to further explore. Scholars often speak to each other through “research questions” to help each other understand the thinking behind research topics or for ideas on areas in need of research.
PART IV: References
· Works Cited page for Padlet & Write-Up
· Resource list that includes at least 5-7 sources useful for further research
PART V: Reflections
· Write 1-2 paragraphs reflecting on this project
· What did/didn’t work well?
· Do you have suggestions to share with future students in the course?
