Part I:

Find a scholarly article published in the past five years. Find a central claim or piece of information that is cited and is relevant to your research. Now, source mine: follow this citation to find a second scholarly article related to your topic. Cite your sources in MLA (TEW or Purdue OWL can help).

Part II:

This part exclusively involves your first article. Write ~50 words per section:

· Kairos: How timely and relevant was this article when released? What about now?

· Authority: How does the author assure the reader that the information is accurate?

· Audience: Who is this article aimed at?

· Bias: In what ways is the article biased towards a certain point of view?

· Context: In what context does the article appear? What does further reading of the author or journal tell you?

Part III:

This part exclusively involves your second article. Write ~50 words per section:

· Kairos: When was your article published, and how much does this matter for the subject?

· Authority: How does the author assure the reader that the information is accurate?

· Audience: Who is this article aimed at?

· Bias: In what ways is the article biased towards a certain point of view?

· Context: In what context does the article appear?

Part IV:

Finally, in ~150 words reflect on how your two scholarly sources relate to each other and how your knowledge on the subject grows from reading both sources.
