Why is the statistical test you chose appropriate to answer your health question? Be sure to be clear on how the two variables you described in Milestone Two are used to complete this test.

My research is interested in knowing the difference between two groups for the same subject length of follow-up for follow-up status. Using the paired T-test, I will compare the two means of the length of follow up. The formula in the paired T-tests is used to measure the mean of two populations, which in my case it is the length of follow-up with two samples in which observations in one sample can be paired with observations in the other sample (Shier, 2004).

Which graph(s) (histogram, stem and leaf, boxplot, bar graph, scatterplot) will you use to visualize the answer to your health question? Be specific and include which variables will be used and if the graph will be created for different subgroups of subjects.

The paired t-test will be used since my interest is to understand if the BMI affects survival (follow-up status) of MI patients and compare if there is any significant difference between the two groups of the same subject. The variables used in the test will be the BMI of the MI patients and the length of follow-up, which is measured in days. The subject used in this case is the follow-up status. Therefore, the paired t-test will be an appropriate tool to examine the difference in the length of follow-up of the MI patients.

Some steps can be used to complete this test. The subject's mean values are calculated first, and the mean table and the mean difference using the findings. Using these calculations, one can also calculate the standard deviation for each FSTAT, which will calculate the standard error of the mean difference. The null hypothesis is that BMI does not affect the survival rates of MI patients, while the alternative hypothesis is that BMI does affect the survival rate of MI patients. If a p-value of < 0.05 is obtained, a significant relationship will be established with the hypothesis. A boxplot will be provided to visually see the distribution, sample means, median, upper, and lower limits for each group.
