This is a newly created position and department within the organization that was founded on the need to coordinate all areas of the business and to provide governance of the information. You will need to hire for all positions within your new department.
The company has been in business for more than 50 years and in this time has collected vast amounts of data. Much of this data has been stored in hard copy format in filing cabinets at an offsite location but in recent times, collected business data is in electronic format stored in file shares. Customer data is being stored in a relational database, but the lack of administration has caused data integrity issues such as duplication. There are currently no policies in place to address the handling of data, business or customer. The company also desires to leverage the marketing power of social media, but has no knowledge of the types of policies or legal issues they would need to consider. You will also need to propose relevant metrics that should be collected to ensure that the information governance program is effective.
The CEO and Board of Directors have tasked you to develop a proposal (paper) that will give them the knowledge needed to make informed decisions on an enterprise-wide Information Governance program, addressing (at a minimum) all of these issues, for the company.
Requirements:
1. The paper should include at a minimum of the following sections:
a. Title page
b. Executive Summary (Abstract)
c. Body
i. Introduction
ii. Literature review
iii. Program and technology recommendations. This will include your comprehensive description of the industry, your annotated bibliography and the following:
1. Metrics
2. Data that matters to the executives in that industry, the roles for those executives, and some methods for getting this data into their hands.
3. Regulatory, security, and privacy compliance expectations for your company 4. Email and social media strategy
5. Cloud Computing strategy
d. Conclusion

Abstract
Introduction: There are multiple factors to consider while analyzing the challenges in information governance such as the polices, process, management and procedures in the IT industry which has multiple companies.
Literature review: challenges that are likely to affect IT industry includes data integrity issues, information management issues, E-discovery, storage management, data security
Introduction
The growth of information technology is taking IT industry to a new level and this means that the industry is likely to face new challenges in information governance in different areas such as polices, processes, control and procedures. This article outline the information governance challenges faced by companies that deal in cloud computing such as Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, Alibaba, Amazon Web Services, and Oracle Cloud.
Literature reviews
Information management is one of the primary challenges facing IT industry today and this requires the company to have an effective way to retrieve data, enhance security and ensure proper maintenance of both electronic and hardcopy information (Brown & Toze, 2017). The most challenging factor in information management for global companies include accounting for every country data retention laws, big data storage issues and complications associated with data formatting. The company is also likely to have e-discovery challenges since a significant part of the data is stored in hard copies while the rest is stored in electronically (Datta, Valavala & Sharif, 2019). This diverse nature may creature difficulties in locating particular data when requested. For example, if the company gets lawsuit it may be very difficult to identify whether the required data is stored electronically or in hard copies. Moreover, if the is poor management of the data the issues becomes more severe and in may be the reason why the company is facing duplication and data integrity issues. The best way an organization can solve this issue include implementing information governance software that automatically store, analyze and evaluate organization data (Datta, Valavala & Sharif, 2019). But since the company in the case has both electronic and hard copy data this may not be effective for overcoming information governance challenges. According to Datta, Valavala & Sharif, (2019), regulation compliance is a challenging factor that affects organization operation on a global scale. Since the company does not have any policy or strategy to ensure it meets regulatory requirement it is likely to trigger multiple legal proceeding and fines due to failure to compliances. The company will have to comply with multiple government regulation to ensure safety for sensitive data such as intellectual property and personal credential information. This would require the company to account for policies provided by governing bodies such as HIPAA, FINRA and SOX.
For the company to overcome these issues in is crucial to implement solutions such as information management automation which means the company should change all of its hard copied data into electronic data. Additionally, the company should ensure regular updates, implement security software as well as implement effective information governance programs.
In conclusion, the challenges that can face an IT industry includes security and compliance, information integrity, regulations and performance management. Using effective information management strategy and cloud computing approach the organization can develop solution that can help to overcome this challenges.

Using email as a method of advisement leads to customer retention as the customer can speak privately with the company’s agents about a particular product. Feedback from the mails is an excellent boost to information acquisition (Wittekind, 2016). The use of a social media platform is a good strategy for the company to reach as many clients as possible. The platforms allow the company to deal with its clients directly. It is a perfect way of collecting valuable information. It also makes it easy for the company to know the market trends and customer preferences.
Cloud Computing Strategy
Cloud computing involves the storage of data and information in the clouds. It consists in storing the information and data outside of a physical computer system. The data can be retrieved, manipulated, and used to make various decisions in an organization. The majority of companies have migrated to cloud computing technology. This move has promoted the safety of information and low costs of data storage in the organizations. The amazon company has adopted a cloud strategy that has enhanced its services and data storage. The company also provides various cloud computing services such as IaaS Paas and Saas to multiple organizations. This strategy has helped improve data security and enhanced data privacy (Rafaels, 2018). This strategy is effective and supports the company’s move to improve data storage.
Generally, it is the joy of a company to enjoy profits and prosperity. An increase in customers and sales brings growth in a company. Customers are critical stakeholders in a company and should be handled with a lot of care. Their privacy is to be taken with a lot of caution to prevent any cases of a data breach. The use of technology will help enhance services in various organizations and companies. Amazon remains the most influential digital company. It is an online marketing company that makes sales to most people who find its products genuine and of the expected quality.
