This source provides the following information I will need for the assignment
Describes a range of applications of probability and statistics for my field
Defines the specific application
Defines how probability and/or statistics are used to accomplish this application
Describe how you will use the ideas from the article to support your argument.
This article defines zero net energy buildings and design strategies. It explains how
statistics are collected from IoT data sources and used in GIS to inform building form and
location decisions to maximize energy performance by evaluating sun, wind, and light. I will be
using Zero Net Energy buildings as an example of the use of statistics in the design phase of an
architectural design process.

This article provides insight into how probability and statistics are used across many of the
disciplines in our college.

Describe how you will use the ideas from the article to support your argument.
This article addresses the use of data in building energy modeling and where there are gaps
in the data. This is the most essential source I have for understanding how data is used in
building energy modeling.
Element 2: Probability and Statistics Literacy will Enhance Your
Employability examples are not provided for this section; the questions are
straightforward
What statistical parameters are you able to determine in the data provided?
Given the type of data you are provided, and the question being asked is the mean or median the
most appropriate measure of location to use? Why?
Is a measure of spread important to the question being ask? Why or why not?
Is the data provided
Discrete OR Continuous
Numerical OR Categorical
Of the data provided, which important skill(s) will you hone within the math part of your
statistics course? How is this connected to having probability and statistics proficiency?
What two categories of data are provided in the data set?
How can each of these be used to support the case you will make in the IDL 1 Final?
Develop a table that is clear, easy to read and is organized to highlight the most important data to
your argument.
Element 3: Reference list Hints: Reference lists in APA format are organized alphabetically by the first letter of the
reference item. This is done to make it easy for readers to find as the in-text citation starts with
the same words/names

Element 4: Appealing to your audience
Describe the aspirational goal of a professional in your field
create iconic buildings
Develop a preliminary thesis statement for your document? (What is it about and
why does that matter?) Probability and statistics proficiencies are essential skills for those who aim to create the high
performing architecture possible for our generation.
