noun: door, plural noun: doors
1. a hinged, sliding, or revolving barrier at the entrance to a building, room, or vehicle, or in the framework of a cupboard.

▪ used to refer to the distance from one building in a row to another: "they lived within three doors of each other"
Word Origin Old English duru, dor, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch deur ‘door’ and German Tür ‘door,’ Tor ‘gate’; from an Indo-European root shared by Latin foris ‘gate’ and Greek thura ‘door.’

Doors - Types
Exterior- a door that connects the outside to an interior.
Interior- a door that connects one interior space to another.
Doors - Sizes
Doors come in a vast array of shapes and sizes.
It is import to have a door proportionate to the ceiling height and wide enough for a variety of users.
Typical- 8’-0” ceilings with a 6’-8” door.
10’-0” ceilings with an 8’-0” door.
Good design- use a 3’-0” wide door whenever possible.
Ceilings are too tall for door heights.
