Import and open the file called Ames_Inventory. You may want to watch the videos again.
Problem 4a
You want to see if anything looks out of line with inventory. With the Ames_Inventory file open, Create an expression in the criteria section to determine if and inventory items have a quantity on hand less than 0. Hint: Review the handout "How to Modify a Field Type", since this activity is asking for a numeric calculation the field must also be numeric to perform this operation. To check the field status, right-click on the first number in the database under QTY_ON_HAND and select field manipulation. Change the field type from Character to Numeric and make sure the decimal places are at 0 then click ok. Create your expression using Criteria similar to what you did in problem 3 to display the results. Print screen the results to submit in with your answer for this problem.
· How many items did you find less than 0?
· Why do you think the quantity on hand would be less than 0?
Problem 4b
Clear the criteria. Hint: Right-click Criteria in the Properties window and select clear.
You now want to check to make sure the unit cost UNIT_COST is less than the unit market price UNIT_MKT. Hint: This activity is asking for a numeric calculation so be sure the field types are correct, if not be sure to adjust the fields. Remember the decimal places would be 2 in this case. Print screen the results to submit in with your answer for this problem.
· How many items did you find where the unit cost was more than the unit market price?
· Why do you think the cost would be less than the market price?
