Gift Giving around the World

International Culture and Protocol

(10 Slides)

Content:

· Please research gift giving traditions abroad.

· Choose a country and develop a theme for an originally American product of your choice.

· Which themes can address gift giving traditions in your chosen country best?

· Make sure to address the local culture.

· Describe how the respective culture is different from the American (US) culture.

· Refer to at least 4 different articles/sources.

Design and Research:

· Only one direct citation is allowed.

· Explain details with the help of 5 PowerPoint slides (more slides are allowed), not including the cover slide and the works cited slide.

· Research at least 4 articles. In case you are using websites, keep in mind that your sources must be from different websites, not just from different links within one website. The use of encyclopedias or video clips is allowed but does not count toward the 4 required articles/sources. Refer to your sources in smaller print on the bottom of your slides.

Structure:

You are expected to design a clear, coherent, and colorful PowerPoint presentation. Please use bullet points with keywords and write a short explanatory phrase (between 6 and 10 words, but not a full sentence) for each keyword. Avoid full sentences. You are allowed to use more than the required 7 PowerPoint slides to create an audience friendly design. Each slide should be designed to integrate a picture, graphic, or logo with your text. Use approximately 5 or 6 keywords and the respective explanations per slide. Apply a font of 18 to all slides (except for your references on the bottom of each slide).

Evaluative Criteria

CONTENT:

The assignment, as explained above, is clearly followed. Other criteria for “content” are as follows:

Detail orientation, comprehensiveness of answer

Use of colorful and meaningful pictures, graphics, etc. on every slide

Use of international business/management terminology

Meaningful use of all research resources

Meaningful use of the Ferraro booklet and detailed explanation of concepts

MECHANICS AND GRAMMAR :

Proper English grammar, mechanics, and formulation of phrases are used throughout the PowerPoint presentation.

Research sources are properly documented using MLA format. A works cited slide is integrated at the end of the presentation.
