When many people hear about Africa, they think about colonialism, the slave trade, apartheid, drought, HIV/AIDS, and many other negative images. Similarly, when many people hear about the Middle East, they think of terrorism, war, and oppressive societies. However, the positive contributions of these regions are both plentiful and powerful - from the arts, religion, food, and culture, to mathematics, medicine, architecture, and astronomy. Additionally, these regions have provided the world with vibrant trade, precious metals and minerals, oil and gas, agriculture, electronics, and innovation.

After reading the articles, list and explain at least three contributions (cultural and economic) from Africa and/or the Middle East that have had a positive and powerful impact on the United States, as well as on the world, globalization, and international business. Additionally, speculate on future contributions you anticipate from these regions, based on what you have learned in this course. What predictions can you make about Africa and the Middle East's impact on international business?

It should take you about two (2) pages to write a robust response to this question. Robust responses will include the following elements:

· Introduction

· At least one paragraph for each of the three contributions

· At least one paragraph about future contributions

· A conclusion
