Ancient Greek THEATRE?

Introduction

Contemporary society movies such as Tthe 40-Year-Old Virgin, American Pie and The Hangover, owe a great deal of their performances to the Greeks. This is because the Greek playwrights invented the controversial but popular genre referred to as "the sex comedy." But during thein ancient Greece, they were known as satyr plays. This discussion will evaluate how the ancient Greeks used satyr plays, Greek tragedies as well as comedies as and unlike the modern opera in Europe, recent onstage and onscreen performances as well as modern musicals. Comment by presenter: THIS IS PLAGIARIZED FROM https://www.thoughtco.com/history-of-comedy-in-ancient-greece-2713181 WHICH VIOLATES THE UNCC CODE OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY. You CANNOT use the writing of someone else without putting it in quotation marks AND citing the source. This pretends to be your own writing here, but it is DISHONEST. Comment by presenter: THIS THESIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE—AND IS NOT TIED TO THE DETAILS THAT FOLLOW. Do you discuss satyr plays, operas, and musicals after this?

Between the old comedy scenes, there was a parabasis, which describes the instance when the choruses directly spoke to the audience concerning irrelevant things in the play. However, in the new comedy this was lost as the function of the chorus was minimized to just singing some songs (Pizzato 21). Also, during this period it was the government ruler also known as the archon that organized festivals. This was done by assigning a wealthy citizen, known as choragus, as the producer or the sponsor of every play of the writers.

Actors, play wrights and chorus members by the 200s were professionalized in a guild. the were professionalized in guild. The government during this time paid for the play festivals along with the artists of government during this time paid for the play festivals along with the artists of Dionysus. The agonthetes who was an official from the government was in charge of the production. Usually, the Dionysia city started with phalloi processions as wooden statures were placed in theatres and sprinkled with pig blood at the edges of performance to symbolize purity (Pizatto 18). Also a bull was burned behind the temple as a sacrifice.

Tragedy plays showed the demise of a noble hero through a combination of fate, hubris as well as the will of the gods. The dominant desire of the tragic hero is to attain some certain objectives that encounter human frailty limits.

Conclusion

This type of performance changes from the ignorance to awareness through love and hate bond. A good performance according to Aristotle usually evokes pity as well as fear in its audience causing them to experience a catharsis feeling.

THIS DOES NOT SHOW A CONNECTION FROM YOUR THESIS TO DETAILS TO CONCLUSION. EVEN WORSE, THE FIRST TWO SENTENCES ARE PLAGIARIZED. THAT RESULTS IN AN AUTOMATIC “F.” (SEE SYLLABUS.)
