What does it mean to call a machine "intelligent"? What does "intelligence" mean to you?

Consider:

--What is it about human beings that we call "intelligence"?

Your one sentence answer to that question will form your "thesis," or argument. Put your thesis at the top of the page, and in bold type.

Support that thesis with 500 words, and refer to a cultural text of your choosing to make your case. This does not have to be something from the syllabus. It can be things like The Terminator, The Matrix, 2001: A Space Odyessy, or any other text that you are familiar with that bears on this question.
