Google Site (Business Dining Etiquette)
Business Dining Etiquette Website
Assignment:
Using Google Sites (or any other website design software of your choice), create a basic Business Dining Etiquette website.
Details:
· This is an individual assignment.
· Create a website with guidance and advice on Business Dining Etiquette. Your audience: your college’s students who have little or no experience in business dining situations.
· Post your website at a location of your choice. You’ll learn how to create a site using Google Sites at our class website design workshop, so you can use Google Sites for your website, or you can choose a different platform to create your site.
· At the very minimum, the website must contain:
1. One internal link
2. One external link (any relevant link is acceptable – e.g., Open Table, Zagat Dining Guide, etc.)
3. One graphic feature
4. One “advanced” feature of your choice, such as an embedded video, calendar, blog, announcements, or a different advanced feature of this type. (Note: announcements is a page template feature within Google Sites.)
5. Create and post a list of questions on the site that could be used for a survey for students about what they learned about business dining from your website.
· You may use external references to gather information for your website; however, do not take material verbatim from other sites. Instead, find multiple resources, carefully read through them, and then combine and synthesize the information using your own words. Be sure to cite the references that you use.
· Your site must adhere to the principles of excellent website design, including recommendations for font sizes, white space, color choices, layout, navigation, etc.
· Be creative! You can step outside of the traditional engineering box for this assignment and exercise your inner graphic designer.
· Important : Submit the form on page 2 with your website url and other information to the drop box by the due date.
Note: If you choose to use Google Sites for your website, please see the Workshop material for more information on building a website using Google Sites. You’ll also share the site with your instructors and our grader; instructions are in the workshop guide.
