In order to answer research, question, the first thing is to analyze the field or purpose of the research question. The research method for a research question is also depend on the nature of the problem or type under discussion. For example, if I, as a researcher is talking about a research a question that is intended to ask a number of patients affected by a disease, then I will use the quantitative research method. Meanwhile, if the research question is designed to ask the effects of drugs on human health, then I will use a qualitative research method.

Research Question

What is the role or influence of human resource management on the success of an organization?

In order to answer this research question, I will use a mixed method approach because this research question could be explained by using quantitative as well as qualitative data. This research question is intended to answer the exact role of human resource management because in the modern world role of HRM is changing and thus its influence on the success of an organization. I will use a mixed method approach to eliminate contradictions between qualitative and quantitative research findings – also reflects the point of view of participants. I am also using a mixed-method approach because it would make it easy to strengthen research conclusion. Another reason is that the proposed research question is more linked with opinions and perception about the role of human resource management in an organization thus the use of qualitative data would be more than that of quantitative (JW, 2013).

Steps included in Research Strategy

1. Identification of topic/development of the research question

2. Preliminary research on the topic

3. Proposed research method

4. A literature review or data collection

5. Evaluation of collected data

6. Preparation of notes (Khan, 2014)

Data Collection

I will collect data online for this research paper because it would be difficult to perform field study because of some circumstances. Quantitative data would be managed by conducting an online survey, and qualitative data would be collected through a literature review. I will research for companies who trust and understand the crucial role of HRM in the success of the company and also evaluate literature that supports upgrading the role of HRM in modern organizations. For the quantitative data, I planned to conduct an online survey form at least 40 respondents and ask them about their opinion regarding the role of HRM in the success of an organization. Responses would be collected through online survey website links and evaluated or generalized to answer the proposed research question. As the research question is easy and general thus, I can get data from online sources because the influence of the human resource management department of any organization is commonly understood.

For the literature review, I will use recent research studies and journals by excluding websites and journals because research paper and journals provide authentic information regarding the topic. Current articles and research papers maximum four years back shall be used to interpret the influence of the HRM in organizational success and how these roles are changing over time.
