Competitive – win - lose, self-righteous approach/apathetic
Collaborative – win - win other options promoting mutual agreeableness
Compromise – partial - win/partial - lose give up of variables to meet each other halfway per si
Avoidance - reluctance to communicate to deter conflict, literal null and void
Accommodation - appeasement or giving in to allow other to achieve satisfaction before self - satisfaction
Correlations
The Big Five, also known as the OCEAN links to how personalities traits and conflict typology can correlate: thus, being attuned to others may aid in conflict management. For instance, I am more an Accommodator (obliging) which is positively correlated to extraversion and agreeableness, so I tend to be assertive yet still recognize others. It is best to approach me with fairness and with concern to others according to Komarraju, Dollinger, and Lovell (2012).
