Good day everyone,

My understanding and appreciation of art have changed significantly during this class. I think the largest road-block for me in the past has been the lack of focus. I have stopped to actually look at and think about the art I have seen during this class. I don't think I was reluctant to do so in the past, but I know these are the reasons I have been able to fully appreciate art before now. Everything is so fast-paced in my world. I work in a demanding career field, my position is one of support for many people. I am also a mother and wife, and I like taking time for myself (quiet solitary moments if possible). Giving myself permission to actually stop for a moment, focus on artwork and what emotions or feelings the artwork evokes in me has assisted with my appreciation of art.

I feel like I have a better understanding of what modern art is, by learning modern art didn't just start in the 1900s. Having accurate information assisted me with my understanding and appreciation.
