Discussion of 2 images.

This assignment lays the foundation for talking about art

and looking at different cultures, ethnicities and their art. 

No. 1 is to Read only. Then, post your response to 2 and 3 below.   This should be at least 2 pages long. One for each image/artwork.

1. A working definition of art:there are 4 parts:

"(1) Art is an expression (2) based on an idea or experience, (3) with skill and the (4) use of a medium." (medium is painting, sculpture, photography, etc.

2. Are the images below art?Based on the definition of no 1., a.) post your opinion on if one or both is art or is one not art?  Why or why not? b.) Go beyond just opinion by including one element and one principle of design from the reading below as they appear in and affect each artwork in your discussion.
