Last time you may have noticed that in many ways, it is easier to see what the rubric is looking for in work that falls short. So, let’s run through the rubric one more time with a work that does NOT meet the criteria very well.

Critical Element 1. Overview

Provide a brief overview of your artifacts, theme, and thesis statement. How are they situated within the domain of the humanities?

Student Response:

I have chose two works for this exploration and they bot express my theme. One of them is a piece of classical music and other is a painting. I found a modern version of my first work on Spotify, but I think it pretty different from the original. My second work is a painting, but since it was panted on a wall, it is actually called a mural. Both of these works are situated nicely within the domain of the humaneities.

A variety of experts have a lot to say about these works and how patrotism impacts my audience. John Kronlokken (2014) says that “Holst set this melody to Cecil Spring Rice’s text ... in 1921. Both works were completed during the. According to Jim Yancy (2016), Holst’s piece became associated with strong feelings after World War I. Jupiter captures the spirit of coming together as, with sections of Holst’s composition. The painting shows a man standing atop a stone peak with an American flag in his hand., which is cleary an example of Furthermore, Leutze included a young black male to represent emancipation Westward’s depiction of pioneers heading west to settle the land and its inclusion of a freedman creates a but it also bears a negative side when we think about manifest destiny.

I think patriotism is impotant to everyone, whether you’re a music artist or a painter. It must have been pretty important to these authors like Mr. Holst who wrote the Jupier song. He was probably very patriotic to his country, and I bet the painter was too. If they were alive today, this theme would probly still be very meaningful to them, just like it is to me.
