If a paper is the academic equivalent of literature, a presentation is more like academic theater—a live performance, prepared for and delivered to an audience, often supported by some kind of visual aid. When you think about it, the presentation seems a more appropriate vehicle for much of the study of the humanities. After all, it’s a little odd to discuss art without viewing it or music without hearing it.

The presentation below offers the story of an epic search for a selfie by Leonardo da Vinci. But that’s not what I want you to pay attention to. Instead, notice the way that the presenter uses visuals to support his argument.
