I. Introduction
I just started my new job as a health care manager at Smith family practice. Smith family practice has been in business for over 20 years. As an established facility, they have already built the structure of how this location will be run along with the culture of the staff. To adjust to my new position, I have been looking into how things have been handled in the past as far as corrective actions, employees resisting change and how management resolved the problems, and I will need to develop an organizational chart of the entire staff.
PART 1:
Corrective Actions
A. What is involved in a corrective action?
a. Agreement between employee and management
b. Verbal, written, final written and termination.
c. Review of appropriate behavior, company policy, future efforts that will be taken.
d. Signed documentation.
B. Example of corrective action plan
a. Poor attendance violating company policy.
b. Written warning (1st offense) – evidence of offense included in warning.
c. Agreement between management and employee signed.
C. Employee motivated or empowered after corrective action?
a. Ways to motivate employee after corrective action.
b. Reasons why employee may not be empowered after corrective action.
Employees resisting change and how management solved problem.
