Select only one (1) of the two (2) topics given below.    Topic 1 – Diversity 

Workforce diversity is inevitable in organisations. Write an academic essay on “Workforce diversity”, 

addressing the following: 

a) define workforce diversity, 

b) discuss organisational opportunities and challenges associated with workforce diversity, and 

c) with appropriate examples from Australian organisations, discuss the managerial 

interventions to address aforementioned challenges. 

 

Topic 2 – Emotional Intelligence 

It is believed that emotional intelligence is more important to managers than intelligence. Write an 

academic essay on “Emotional intelligence”, addressing the following: 

a) define emotional intelligence, 

b) with appropriate examples, discuss why emotional intelligence is important to managers, 

and 

c) discuss the ways in which one’s emotional intelligence can be developed.
