Instructions for individual report: 1. This is an individual assignment. Submit ONE copy of your report. Students should a keep
a copy of report submitted.
2. The report should have: • Cover page • Content page • Introduction • Write-up of 3 HR systems • Conclusion • References • Appendices, as appropriate.
3. Guidance on report 3.1 The cover page should include your FULL name and Student ID number as in the
register. 3.2 The introduction should briefly include the background of the manager and
organisation, and the purpose of the report. Maximum 120 words. 3.3 The conclusion should summarise key findings of the 3 HR systems. Maximum 120
words. 3.4 The appendix should the name, job title and contact details of manager whom you
contact in the organisation.
4. The report must be type-written with words in 1.5 line spacing, font-size 12, Times New Roman. This report must be submitted in Word format.
5. The report should not exceed 1,500 words. State the word count at the end of the report.
6. Assignment activities
6.1 Read the module book to have a comprehensive understanding on these topics: • Recruiting in Labour Markets (Session 4) • Selecting Human Resources (Session 5) • Training Human Resources (Session 6) • Talent Management and Development (Session 7) • Performance Management and Appraisal (Session 8)
6.2 Look for an organisation – can be from any industry and located in any part of the world. Contact a person whom you can interview to find out in detail about any THREE (3) of the above topics in the organisation. You should carry out the interview electronically with no face-to-face contact with the interviewee. The contact person should have some knowledge about HR or has HR responsibility in the organisation. Data can be obtained through internet research and/or any other information available in the library or published materials.
6.3 Suggested activities before and during the interview:
• Prepare relevant questions on these topics

• Ask for details to help you make sense when you are writing the report. • Ask for relevant documents, if organisation permits.
6.4 Write a report on the three topics you have chosen. Your report should include:
• How these three HR systems are implemented in the organisation. • Benefits and/or drawbacks for implementing these HR practices in the organisation. • Analyse and suggest actions to enhance the HR practices in the organisation.
7. You required to provide at least THREE (3) references. The references should be presented
in APA format.
8. The assignment will be marked out of 100 marks and counts for 40% of the total assessment in the module. Please refer to assessment template for breakdown of marks.
9. Submit your assignment through D2L dropbox before the deadline. A mandatory mark
deduction will be imposed for late submission. No submission will be accepted 24 hours after deadline. No hardcopies of the assignment will be accepted.
