Good Morning Professor and Classmates,

I was very naive and uneducated about the legal side of Human Resource Management coming into this course. I've held many supervisor and manager jobs that required me to hire and fire employees. What I thought I knew, versus everything that goes into the legal side of Human Resources; I had no idea Starting with Chapter one, being able to understand the differences in pay from a legal standpoint between men and woman was mind blowing. The number of lawsuits from the past and present where woman are still fighting to be compensated equally in Corporate America is unbelievable. In 2017 the Me-too movement swept thru the United States, bringing a heavy focus on sexual harassment, in Corporate America where protections were already in place.  Sexual harassment can occur in several different ways that I was not aware of. I did not know that the victim did not have to be the person that was being harassed. The victim can be a woman or a man. It can even come from the same sex. Over 7500 sexual harassment claims were filed in 2018, an increase of over 14% from the following year.Learning the regulatory environment of Human Resources was also very important. Step one, which involves the actual creation of the new regulations and the environment. Step two what goes into the enforcement of these regulations, and finally the practice and implementation. In conclusion, what I've learned in this class can make a huge impact on not just how I handle myself in a corporate environment, but my choice of career path with my current employer. Taking this course and having the ability to continue my growth in Hr Management in graduate school here at Strayer, is now another option, in my future Career path with my current company.

 Thank you,

Hello class and Professor,

Welcome to week 11 of our discussion question we made it. I found this class to be very informative because it focused on the day to experience of political government which was fun to learn about. The professor was very knowledgeable for this course which I learned a lot from. I also learn a lot from our discussion post reading my classmates post helped guide me with my discussion as well. The one question that I didn't get any understanding from was from week 7 of our discussion question What has been the results of the 17th Amendment on the Congress, states, and the country as a whole?

I got a better understanding about how things work for social security. Professor gave some really great insights and example of how Social Security really works. This class has just been informative from the quizzes, to the discussion including the papers. Great job everyone continue to achieve your goals and know that the sky is the limit.
