Importance of Evaluation |
Funders expect the organization that is being considered for funding to define and measure the success of the intervention described in the proposal. Thus, evaluation is the process through which the organization plans to assess the effectiveness and impact of an intervention, including what worked and what did not work. In your Goals, Objectives, Methods, and Timeline assignment of Week Three, you were asked (among many other things) to describe the procedures used to assess whether the proposed activities accomplish the stated goal and objectives (see assessment plan). That is, you were informally asked to evaluate your intervention. In this discussion forum, state why evaluation is an important aspect of your grant proposal. Then adjust your original assessment plan to integrate the information you have learned this week, to include this information in your discussion.
For instance:
· Consider the two main types of evaluation (i.e., internal and external); which one did you cover in the assignment?
· Should you cover both types?
· Did you provide enough information to judge the quality of their program evaluation?
