How to download from data.gov

Go to https://www.data.gov/

Type in a key word for the data you want to search for in search box (make sure you are in the Data Section of the website) or browse by topic. This example used the key word "snow"

If you find too many results narrow down your search by file type, because you want to select databases with (CSV) file ending so it will open into Excel easily

Go to Format on the left side and select CSV

Now select a database for the assignment

Download the file and then save it as an Excel file. Be sure there is enough data to run an analysis. If the data set is too small select another file

Note: you may need to adjust columns so that the data displays properly
