Implementing anything new is not an easy process and CIS is not any different. Implementation of CIS definitely impact stakeholders. “For a hospital stakeholder are the patients, referral physicians, suppliers, regulators, community, payers, and companies among others” (Berkowitz, 2017). For this discussion, while implementing CIS the project manager must pay close attention to how it will impact the staff and patients. The change can be positive and negative. If it’s a positive impact, not much work is needed. But, if it impacts negatively, the staff’s feedbacks must be heard and coach them appropriately to properly utilize the new CIS.

The staff will have the great impact from the new CIS because they will have to retrain themselves and change the way they used to work all the time. There will be change of workflow in daily tasks as well as the mode of communication to the other staff members or department will change. One way to make sure the change has a positive impact is to have proper communication with the staff while implementing new CIS. Getting feedback from them will be a huge help. “Establishing an open dialogue with select stakeholders at the end-user level early on will make it easier to understand the impact a new technology will have on this group in general” (Kushan, 2017).  

As per patients, it will also impact them because it will alter their relationship with the staff and clinicians (Kushan, 2017). It must be clear that the new CIS directly impact patients because they are the ones on the receiving end and they are the customers. Their safety and privacy should be the upmost priority. For that reason, “it may be valuable to consider the patient’s perspective as a stakeholder as well” (Kushan, 2017).
