Assignment: Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM)
For this exercise, you will develop a Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM) for Disney World, Universal Studios (FLA), and Busch Gardens (FLA). The main component of the CPM is the Critical Success Factors. Critical Success Factors are activities critical to the success of an organization.
Using the attached worksheet, select 7 Critical Success Factors from the table listed below that you feel are critical to the theme park industry. Once you have selected the five, develop a CPM for Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens.
Weights range from 0.0 to 1.0 with the total weighted score equaling 1.0. Weights Indicate the relative importance of that factor to being successful in the industry.
Ratings are assigned to each company as to whether each Critical Success Factor is a strength or a weakness to the organization. (1= major weakness; 2= minor weakness; 3= minor strength; 4= major strength)
