Field investigation report

must carry out a site reconnaissance following the lecture notes and the video week6 Mount Vernon. The site is an old mining exploitation.

Prepare the desk study for the report:

Use historical maps, Geology, Boreholes and Trial pits results, coal mining repots and any extra source of information you can find (previous site investigations, BGS maps of boreholes etc…)

1. Sketch and discuss the zoning of the site related to obstructions, possible contamination and site characteristics…Divide the map provided in zones by annotating the blank map provided on my place.

1. Suggest and explain a sampling strategy for each zone.

1. Suggest non-invasive site investigations techniques and justify the choice for each zone (try to suggest at least 2 for each zone).
