Case Study
Case Study:
Sam is a 37 year old, white male that was raised Roman Catholic. He is the manager at a start-up tech company but it is not doing as well as originally thought. He lives paycheck to paycheck but still makes time to go out after work. He is a self-reported man who loves the ladies. He cites his love for women as being the reason for his divorce that was finalized 6 months ago. His wife “up and left instead of trying to make him want her again”. He likes to go out to the bar and take home a woman as many times a week as he can and if there are no women out that night he starts texting women that he has saved their contact information into his phone. He feels agitated and unfulfilled if he does not have sex at least 8 to 10 times a week, more if he can get the women. He also performs self-masturbation every morning before he can start his day. There are times where he does not want to get out of bed and has stopped doing things that he used to enjoy, like hiking, since the divorce and the company not doing as well. There are days where he will stay in bed and only get up to have sex. He has since started to smoke marijuana saying that it “makes him feel better” and that “he can actually feel relaxed rather than always being on edge”. His friends have dropped in the number due to the divorce and “no one understands his needs”.
