Activity
Via the video ‘A Falconer’s Memoir’
It explores collision of two cultures; the Native Americans and the White Americans
Cultural collision was due to land ownership
The activity brings to light multicultural issues
The activity puts on the table multicultural issues that are hardly spoken about. It will induce debates that will allow the students to appreciate and learn about cultural diversity. Students will not only learn of cultural differences, but they will also learn the need to appreciate and embrace these cultural differences.

Process
Students will watch the videotape
The teacher will then bring in similar examples of cultural interaction
The teacher will lead a discussion on the underlying factors causing such events and outline the place of cultural diversity
The students will take turns to provide a short description of these interactions
Learning Objective
To explain and describe the nature of interactions amongst different cultural groups
To explain and use from the perspectives of different groups of culture
The activity as noted will provide an opportunity for students to distinguish how different cultural groups use land differently. By highlighting the similarities and differences as far as the cultural groups are concerned, students will learn how to celebrate this diversity.

Tool for graphic representation
The videotape will be the primary resource of the lesson. It sets the background for the entire lesson and will be the primary source of reference. Resource information is meant to aid the teacher is highlighting other incidences of cultural conflict and cultural interaction. The tool for graphic representation will be used by the students to describe instances of cultural conflict.

Behavioral Studies Standard 4: Students need to understand the existence of cooperation, interdependence and even conflict among different groups of people
United States History Standard 31: Learners need to be aware of the socio-economic and cultural developments that defined contemporary America
These standards align with multicultural studies on the sense that they are aimed at ensuring students understand and appreciate how various cultural groups realized their goals. Students will also get to understand the various cultural influences on American culture.

Brainstorm
Challenge the students to celebrate the cultural diversity among them
Make them apply by writing something interesting about different cultures
The brainstorm segment aims at taking the lesson outside the classroom and allows the students to practically apply that which they have learnt. In this case, the focus should be more on awareness and sensitivity as opposed to the conflict.
