data analysis
1. Indicate the variable being analyzed.
Variables: posttest; pretest
2. Indicate the t-value
3. Was the difference statistically significant? At what alpha level?
4. Indicate Effect Size
5. Draw a conclusion: Did the treatment/intervention or environment (stress level in Data set 4) make a difference between the group/s (sometimes dependent t-tests can be used with two different groups if they are matched on other characteristics).
6. SPSS presents results cast against a two tailed test. Indicate if the differences were statistically significant (if so at what alpha level) with a directional hypothesis (one tailed test). – You must refer to the table of critical values (Pages 403-404).
