Complete the course evaluation for this course at https://apu.campuslabs.com/courseeval/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. , then put a note here verifying that you have completed it
Read Acts 25:1-28:31. In a bullet-point list, identify 3-5 elements that you find especially striking, surprising, puzzling, offensive, or any questions you may want to raise in class. You do not need to use complete sentences for this list
Reread Acts 26:1-29, where Paul explains himself to King Herod Agrippa II (the fourth Herod we encounter in Luke/Acts, and the great grandson of Herod the Great). Answer the following questions:
a) In this account of Paul's conversion, he mentions that Jesus said, "It hurts you to kick against the goads" (26:14). What does this mean in this context? You may need to look up the noun form of the word "goad," as people don't use it often anymore
b) Why does Paul say, "[I am] saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place" (26:22)? Consider the narrative context as you craft your answer
c) What is Paul's main goal in this speech? Make sure you justify your answer from the text
Reread 27:1-28:10, and list 3-5 key themes or ‘take-aways’ from this portion of Acts
