Course objectives require that you write three (3) letters. Using what you learn in your textbook about letters, creating Goodwill and applying the “You” perspective…write the following letters.
Letter #1: Write a Sales Letter .
In the role of the owner or manager of the company you have created, write a letter to a prospective client or clientele creating interest in and selling/pitching the company’s product or service. Aim to persuade your audience to try your product. Be sure consult your textbook pp 486-487 on Sales letters, pp 113-117 on correspondence, and pp 311-316 for formatting standards.
Letter #2: Write a Complaint Letter.
Pose as a customer of the business that you have created. Write a complaint/claim about the product or service promoted in the sales letter (Letter #1). See pp 94-95 for instructions for writing complaints, and pp 311-316 for formatting standards.
Letter #3: Write a Letter of Adjustment from the company to the consumer in response to the claim letter (letter #2). Put yourself back in the role of owner or manager. You decide whether you want to write a “full adjustment (see pg 17) or a partial adjustment (p 18) or a refusal letter (p 449-452). Again, you will use your company name you created for letter #1.
