3. Exercise 3.5 Problems 1-12 Determine if the argument is valid or invalid. Determine the argument pattern. Example of patterns: Affirming the Consequent, Denying the Antecedent, Disjunctive Syllogism, Affirming the Antecedent (modus Ponens), Denying the consequent (Modus Tollens) and Hypothetical Syllogism.
4. Exercise 3.9 1-10
5. Read Appendix E, this appendix demonstrates how to write effective argumentative essays. Use the material to create an outline for the Essay below.
6. Read Essay 16 on in the appendix Torture: Time for Congress to End the Debate
a. Identify the conclusion b. Identify the main premises c. Identify if this is an inductive or deductive argument. d. Create an Outline of the essay using the format illustrated in appendix E.
