Final Project Submission Over the duration of this course, many topics have been covered in the area of emergency management. You have chosen a topic either from within your specific tracks (Health Care, Public Health, Emergency Management or Criminal Justice) and you will discuss its application within one of the five phases of the All-Hazards disaster cycle (Prevention, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Mitigation).
Your final paper must also meet the following requirements: Be a minimum of five double-spaced pages in length (excluding the title/cover page and reference page). If you include an abstract, the abstract does not count towards the five pages. Incorporate concepts from our course. Include a properly formatted APA style title page. Include in-text citations Include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement. Conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph. Include an APA-formatted reference section. Your research paper must be cited per APA guidelines. You are required to use scholarly resources to support your response. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

Emergency Preparedness for Food Deserts in the Mississippi Delta
The problem addressed in this study is the lack of emergency preparedness of access to healthy food retailers in rural communities characterized as food deserts. Over 40 years of neighborhood research has provided substantial support that impoverished and disadvantaged communities play a profound role in influencing numerous resident health outcomes, including obesity and obesity-related medical conditions. This study will examine the relationships between community disadvantage, emergency preparedness and access to healthy food retailers in rural communities. Studies that have examined relationships between community emergency preparedness and food retailer outcomes.
