Homework; Requirements:

Write 1-3 potential thesis statements for your paper and submit them. Your thesis should be clear, concise, and arguable. 

Requirements: 1. Write approximately 750 words. If you're a few words short or over, don't worry about it. You're shooting for slightly over two double spaced pages.  2. Double-spaced lines!  3. Do insert numbers.  Basic Idea: I want you to write an interpretation of one of the plays, poems, or short stories we have read so far in class. Focus on one symbol, scene, or character. Provide a deeper interpretation of what that symbol, scene, or character means for the play.  There should be an introduction where your thesis is clearly presented. That thesis should then be supported by your evidence from the text in subsequent paragraphs. Every paragraph should begin with a clear paragraph topic sentence that supports your overall thesis.  Your concluding paragraph should review your overall point, resolve any counter arguments you wish to address (optional), and possibly (optional) examine any consequences that arise from accepting your interpretation of the play.  You may, and you are encouraged, to develop one of the short ideas that you begin in one of our daily writing exercises
