Part I
Sutter Medical Center is in Sacramento, California which is owned and operated by Sutter Health. It is a not-for-profit health system that offers both community-based and tertiary medical services (Sutter Health, n.d.). The hospital consists of 523-beds that focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine and neurology and neurosurgery (AHD, 2022.). Some strengths of the hospital are accessibility across urban, suburban, and rural communities that provides a high quality of care. It has an integrated network that invests in research and pilot programs that contributed to the advancements in patient’s care and medical research. One of its weaknesses is their emergency department. Patients mostly shared longer wait times and rudeness of the staff.
Part II.
Patient advocate are supporters, believer, sponsor, promoter, campaigner, backer, or spokesperson. These advocate’s focus is the patient and their needs (Plantemoli, n.d.). They help patients have a better understanding goals and expectations in their healthcare. Patient advocacy is very important for patient’s communication, mental, and emotional health needs. It helps them have a voice in their own medical treatment and being involved with the process (Pecci, n.d.). In a hospital setting, a nurse can stand as a patient advocate. For example, when a patient receives an unsafe accommodation or there are unclear instructions, the nurse will communicate these concerns to the doctor or appropriate medical facility personnel to resolve the issue. Advocacy plays an important role in patients care, it makes them feel secure that their concerns are being heard and not being left out in their own medical treatments. These promotes compliance and trust with their health care providers.

Part 1 - Hospital Information:
UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central was established in 1904 and is an acute hospital located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, within the county of El Paso. This hospital is a Level I trauma center, the only Level I trauma center in southern Colorado, and currently has 413 beds (Vogrin & UCHealth, 2019). It is a not-for-profit healthcare system whose main contribution comes from donations; for example, it depends on donations from foundations, families, individuals, and corporations. The weakness of UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central is the high price charged to the patients for treatment received at the hospital. However, one strength of UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central is that it is known to be an award-winning hospital recognized nationally for quality and outcomes (Vogrin & UCHealth, 2019).
Part 2 - Patient Advocacy:
The role of a patient advocate entails helping patients and their families or caregivers navigate the healthcare system by assisting in several ways. For instance, helping to negotiate finances for medical bills, retrieving medical records, asking questions, and providing education to patients in order for them to make well-informed healthcare decisions (Pecci, n.d.). A patient advocate can be an on-staff patient counselor, a close relative, a friend, or someone who does not receive monetary compensation for the service rendered. An example of a hospital personnel advocating for a patient could be a Nurse. Suppose he/she believes that a patient is mistreated. In that case, they can advocate on behalf of the patient for better treatment, financial options, and legal options (Pecci, n.d.).
