HMGTY 240 DISC PART 1

Part 1 - Hospital Information: Based on your readings this week, and your own research that you conducted, identify one type of hospital in your state residence (or a state that you have resided in previously such as Maryland), and share the specific characteristics of that hospital.  Include the following information regarding the hospital you selected: the hospital name, the hospital location, type of hospital, specialty (if applicable), number of beds (size), for-profit or not-for-profit status, one weakness of the hospital, and one strength of the hospital. 

Part 2 - Patient Advocacy: Based on your readings this week, and your own research that you conducted, explain the importance of patients as advocates in a hospital setting.  Include the following information for patient advocacy in your response: the role of a patient advocate, the importance of a patient advocate (or a patient as their own advocate), and provide one example of patient advocacy with identification of at least one hospital personnel that could assist in the patient advocacy example. 

APA Requirement: Include at least two APA formatted references with correlating in-text citations in your initial posting.
