Topic: Have the laws and regulations passed as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 been helpful or hurtful to American society?

LAST WEEK ASSIGNMENT BELOW. ESSAY I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON BELOW:

The Patriot Law of U.S. A

Since the most devastating bombing on United States of America soil in 2001 there have been many terrorists, counter-terrorism and terrorism laws that have passed to see that such an unfortunate occurrence does not take place again. The efforts have been successful so far because they have been objective. No attack of such a kind has ever taken place. There have been merits and demerits of laws as I will discuss below;

Among the demerits that we have had is that media houses have gagged, McCarthy, M. T. (2002) information that would have been relevant to the general public has been kept private by federal agencies in a claim that ‘it is a matter of national security. We have seen attacks been made on individuals and other countries yet the money used to finance them cannot be disclosed. Sharp critics have said that the government launches personal investigations on people on the persons it sees fit under the hood that it is a matter of importance. There has been the public outcry because the people feel that their universal right to privacy has been breached, Goodrich, J. N. (2002) this is because of the strict surveillance and tapping of personal information that state agencies do.

On the bright side, we notice that there has an immense reduction in attacks from both internal and external sources (gray-2018). This has created a business-conducive environment for investors to come into the country. Trust in the USA government has increased as we see many foreign leaders come to the country whenever they are under threat from external sources (Beckman-2016). The security agencies have been unified by the laws and they all share information about security conditions of specific areas and individuals.
