HISTORY 6
Freedom of New Netherlands
New Netherland was under Dutch colony which advocate for peaceful associations. Many of the citizens in the New Netherlands fled from war, natural calamities and religious persecution hence turning the country into a home of different cultures. This diverse culture turned the colony to be productive regarding agriculture and the trade merchants who dealt with fur. New Netherlands developed a broad culture base and stable political system. The Dutch respected concierge. Free enquiry which is freedom of science was also very important. Indeed, women had a place in the society and were privileged to enjoy civil, legal, and economic rights that were denied by the British. Towns were made secure and powers of self-governance. New Amsterdam emerged as the first European-style city in the original colonies of the United States. They believed that freedom belonged every citizen of the New Netherlands as long as they could contribute to economic well-being
Religion and Religion Freedom ( If you are good business person, no matter what u believe as long as you have …quality. If u have find religion, no time for business…) something like that can u add that sentence in this paragraph?
Some of the people who freed to the New Netherland were seeking political asylum, and hence this made New Amsterdam a town that acted as a home for European religious refugees. They were Catholics, Quakers, Jews, English Baptists and Lutherans. It laid a strong foundation for religious freedom among the migrants (Rubenstein, 2012). There was a controversy about religion on issues regarding privacy religion and private religion. Private religion explained the personal belief where it was all about the person's soul, faith and conscience. The Dutch respected that and boundaries drawn where that was not to interfere with no matter the situation. On the other hand, there was public religion, and the personal beliefs expressed openly. It brought a place in the society for theology like preaching in the burial, marriages and preaching to convert others to Christianity. The Dutch did not take this lightly, and this appealed to the government. However, officials were allowed to give the freedom of converting others to the public through the policy of connivance.
The Dutch had different religion toleration that eased the relation with the native and helps in the trading activities. They accepted conversion of slaves to Christians through baptism. The aim was to have a better generation which would be morally upright. As a result, it was straightforward to avoid slavery since this was against the Christianity morals (Rubenstein, 2012).
American Revolution War ( how to make money ? so that they have a war) ( more likely as the British and American they will make more money? ) I am not sure.
The British strategy changed after the Washington troops were defeated at the Siege of Boston. They now wanted to divide colonies through the capture of a strategic port. Several battles were fought in the period starting 1776. The New York Campaign was a battle fought during this period of 1776. City structures were also largely destroyed during the war (Rubenstein, 2012). After the British landed at the Kip’s bay, it was found out that several structures in the city were destroyed. Several people were apprehended by the British army such as Nathan Hale who was apprehended for obtaining secret information about the army. Fort Washington fell during this period of wars. The success of British military led to the refugees coming from different states to live in the New York City. It was the headquarters of the British army.
The French cooperated with the Americans in order to succeed in the war. The British were attacked in states where they had been loosely established such as in Virginia. They were defeated in these states .A Franco-American troop would finally win the war. The British lacked a naval base to fight the French (Woodard , 2012). The British surrendered in Yorktown. America had finally attained independence from the British. However, the divisions among the eleven states of the US did not end. There was no bond created among the states.
American Civil War
Fort Sumter was were the American civil war was initiated. The city of Sumter was bombarded during this time thereby sparkling the civil war. A shell in the city of Sumter just exploded. Even the flagpole at the center of Fort Sumter was torn apart. The fort had wooden buildings which caused the fire to spread easily. Factors which influenced the Civil War include state’s rights, slavery and protectionism. Many people were killed during the war including army members and civilians (Woodard , 2012). The battle of Antietam was the worst of all because it recorded the highest number of deaths in a single day. The aftermath was that the North region became richer while the South region which had been rich now became poorer. Several attempted diplomacies to end the war had failed such as the Cotton diplomacy. Major Anderson and his soldiers had to surrender the war to President Lincoln after eighteen hours of war.

Key Parts of the Constitution of United States of America
Constitution of the United States of America adopted in 1787 had seven main parts namely; the Legislative Branch which entails the Legislature, the House, the Senate, and Elections etcetera. The second part deal with the Executive. It is comprised of the president, cabinet, State of the Union, and Disqualifications. The third part is known as the Judicial Branch which gives a detailed explanation of Judicial Powers, Trial by Jury, and treason to the government. The fourth part is the State which dictates the relation of States, Citizens, and New States and about the government. We also have Amendments, Debts Supremacy and oaths and lastly Rectification.
The First Ten Amendments to the US Constitution
The first ten amendments are commonly referred to as the Bill of Rights since they were trying to free the human being from oppression. They were introduced as Amendments in 1789 to the US Congress. The purpose was to protect the citizens of the United States, monitor the power of the government and also to protect the natural rights. George Mason wrote some of the Declarations of the constitution, although the declarations were not part of the constitution. Sources of information in drafting the amendments were various commentaries on the Constitution and the American law (Woodard , 2012). These amendments were not only the rights of individuals but they also included their duties as citizens of the country. The duties were more important than the rights. For example the right to speech was also associated with the duty to speak in a decent way too.
The amendments were meant to protect rights of individuals such as the imposing of religions to citizens. Those who amended the constitution claimed that a disarmed community would not effectively protect itself from the enemy in occurrences of war.
Contribution of Regional Nations ( See woodard’s list, PP, 148, 149, I will show you later)
In 1776, the Virginia Colonies Legislature had a Declaration of rights that focused on the freedom of press and right against being restrained by the government. They were supported by other twelve states. In 1787, Philadelphia proposed a new constitution which would entail the Bill of Rights. However, there was an Opposition by James Madison who was from Virginia State. He argued that the proposed amendments would contradict other rights which were not states. The proposal, however, was rejected when state delegations voted against.
For the Bill to pass, all the state had to agree unanimously. Supporters of the Constitution were from Massachusetts, Virginia and New York proposed that the states approve the Constitution and add more bills. Finally, all the 13 states gave consent to the constitution. This states had a lot of political influence, and it resulted in persuading of other states to follow.
