This article by the Bill of Rights Institute provides an overview of one of the great debates

in American history over the ratification of the Constitution in 1787-1788. It provides anti-

federalists' stand as a disorganized group that did not share one unified position in the

proper form of government. This article will be useful in my paper because it will highlight

why the anti-federalists failed in their quest to ratify the Constitution and have their way.

The article summarizes some of the reasons that led to the disgruntles by a section of the

citizens regarding certain stands of the Constitution. For example, many believed that the

Constitution had done away with some of the expected gains after the revolution. This article will

be useful in the final paper because it will streamline the genesis of the debate between the

federalists and the anti-federalists.

This article tries to highlight how the two terms- federalist and anti-federalist came to be. It

gives an overview of how despite the great debate that came about through the two terms;

they came and went with no form of significance. The article is important because it will

highlight the genesis of the two terms, federalist and anti-federalists.

show some of the critical aspects and points of the anti-federalists.

This article highlights the stand of the anti-federalists and their fears regarding what they

believed would be the problem of having a strong federal government. For example, the

new national government would be too powerful and thus threaten individual liberties,

given the absence of a bill of rights. This article will be useful for the final paper because it

will highlight some of the fears of the anti-federalists in accommodating the federalists'

perspectives.
