Part 1

In the space below, write a short paragraph about what you already knew about the topic you selected prior to this course, based on your personal history or experiences. This may include assumptions, beliefs, or values related to the topic. Be as detailed as possible.

The term Apartheid means being apart. This is a version of racial segregation between the whites and blacks who were available in south Africa and some parts of South West Africa. My Believe is that regarding South African Apartheid is more of an African Version of World War. At no instance that the whites and the blacks could have conducted a successful business based transactions. During the Period, they were not allowed to marry or even date. South African Apartheid is believed to have begun around 1948 and went through up to the early 1990s after which the country overcame it.

Describe why this question matters to you personally.	The question is of great significance because the current generation are well positioned to understand what their respective ancestors underwent during this period. Therefore, as an African American, I will be able to understand all these issues.
Describe why this question matters to society.	The question is of great impact towards the society due to the fact the backs were not treated fairly.
Identify a second question about the topic you are curious about.	What are similarities between present racial segregation and south African Apartheid?
Describe why this question matters to you personally.	The query matter to since being an African American, and most of my family members grew up in Minnesota, they have kept on complaining of racial segregation from the native Americans. Therefore, I would wish to relate the case with Apartheid.
Describe why this question matters to society.	Such issues have direct impact on political income. Therefore, will directly affect the society.

Now that you have gone through the research, describe what you have learned about your topic in one to two paragraphs.

I have proved my assumption of comparing the American War with Apartheid. I have also learnt that no black was allowed to stay close to the white’s settlement. They were forced to stay quite far from the whites and on their own.

They were not also allowed to share social amenities and facilities, thus limiting the possible contact between the two parties.

The laws formulated remained relevant for more than 50 years since 1948.

Further economic struggles were brought to south Africa by the second word war, forcing the régime strengthen their rules of racial segregation. One of the strengthened rules is the one which preserved more than 80% of the property in South Africa for settlers. This further restricted the freedom of the blacks.
