Watch the film "Exodus" on PBS ( https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/film/exodus/ ), which outlines the global refugee crisis. In a one to two page, single spaced paper, write your reaction. Tips for writing a reaction paper:

· There should be two parts to the paper: a  summary  of the documentary, and your  reaction  to the documentary.

· For the  summary  portion:

· Write a concise summary of the documentary

· Highlight main points

· Use examples to illustrate the main points

· Do not discuss in great detail any one aspect; instead, you should ensure that all important aspects are highlighted

· Keep the summary portion objective and factual. Do not include personal opinions in the first part of the paper.

· Guiding questions for the  reaction  portion:

· What was surprising to you?

· Did any of what you saw change any preconceived notions that you may have had prior to viewing the documentary?

· What did you learn that you did not know previously?

· Did this increase your understanding of the issue? Did it change your perspective in any way?

· Would you recommend this to others?

· Also answer the question: What are the public health implications of the refugee crisis? By this, I mean: What potential public health issues might arise as a result of the refugee crisis?

This assignment is worth up to 50 points. You will be graded on the thoroughness with which you summarize the documentary (20 pts), the introspectiveness of your reaction and answer to the PH implications question (20 pts), and your grammar and spelling (10 pts).

It is recommended that you take notes throughout the film, both on what you observe and your feelings and reactions. This will help you to effectively summarize the material and reflect on your reactions.
