Task 1
Teamwork is a process in which a group of people collaborate to achieve a specific goal for each member of the group.
Teamwork needs to organize and arrange team members' collaboration, using their individual energies, creations and ideas together to achieve the desired results. I worked with a team of three people in college.
The type of team is functional. The goal was to solve a collective assignment and get a good answer for the assignment.
One of our team members it has a teamwork character, which means that the person who like to help for getting the information, and have a spirit of initiative, help and cooperation. This kind of personal character do not have any problem to help the other members in their work. And they use their versaility to identify the work required and complete it on behalf of the team. The strength of this personal characters is, cooperative and listens and averts friction.
The second character in our team members is, a plant character which is means that a person which like to make a plan for any work that he have it, he like to preper the plan for everything. Also like to tends to be highly creative and good at solving the problems in unconventional ways. The srength of this personal character is, creative, freethinking, solving the difficult problem.
The last character in our team members is completer finisher is most efficiently utilized at the end of tasks to check the work for errors and subjecting it to the highest standards of quality.
The purpose of Belbin Typology theory is to monitor the difference over the years through the roles and to predict whether the team has succeeded or failed and knows the role of the team and may cause the team to fail to succeed. We have put in place a plan to start work, divide work among all members of the team and work together to collaborate and exchange information to work more effectively to accomplish the task and work successfully.
The team was effective in performing tasks as required and completed work within the specified period. It is the characteristics of the effective team to set clear goals, the collective participation in decision-making also accept each member of the team to the views of others, in addition to the willingness of team members to meet the difficult situations facing the team. It focuses on a number of issues: - Informality, clarity of tasks and objectives, cooperation among members, participation and commitment to achieving goals, effective leadership of team activities, urbanization in conflict management, support of creativity, innovation and open communication; Shared responsibility, confidence building among team members.
Through my experience of the effective team when I was working with the team for assignment 1 I found that each member of the group has emotional cleverness and have different skills as well as we shared the information from each other. We teamed up with time for humor, inspiring us with confidence, better interaction with team members and developing team productivity.
In our team, there are some skills that we have it, such as listening, persuasion, participation, respect is available, persuading, helping, etc.
The benefits of teamwork are that it achieves goals, shortens distances, saves time, develops social skills and develops the spirit of work within a single team. It is a means of sharing experiences and knowledge. Working with a team benefits both team members and the organizations in which they work. Cooperation is the fundamental benefit. Members want to work together and support one another because they unite with the team and want it to be bright and successful, thus reducing individual competition. Members want more than cooperation with each other for the benefit of the team, so they share with each other and voluntarily indulge themselves in their efforts.
The second benefit is to make decisions and solutions at the same time as each member draws and evaluates more choices than one individual can make. This reduces the time required to complete the work, because members make decisions at the same time, not as sequentially as is often the case. Decisions are taken by consensus of members, usually better than a single decision, even if the most brilliant team member comes in.
Task 3:
Conthingency theory:
The conthingency theory of leadership ecffectiveness was developed by Fred Fiedler. In this theory its states on the effectiveness of the leaders on the team, its depands on the leaders behavioral style and certain the characteristic. The leaders have different styles in leading the teams which is based on their motivational needs. The contingency theory is focusing on state of two needs which is:
1- Interpersonal relationship needs.
2- Task achievement need.
Our team leadership used this theory to focus on the task need to work together and achieve out task goal. In this theory also it state on that the leaders can influence the events in a straight way and the work systematically towards the desired outcomes. Our leader decided the needs related to her style, which need is more important and strongest. Our leader also analyse our team needs from more important needs to less important. By using this theory our team achieved the project goal without any problem and our relationship between the leader and our members was very good. By helping from leader style in behavioural and work we done our project in time and we achieve the goal.
