Topic chosen: Nurses have been using antibacterial foam dispensers, is it healthier and safer than washing with water and soap.

To get started with any PDSA you first must find your topic  and create some level of focused knowledge using literature search and of evidence-based articles.  

After finding a specific topical article (single) and/or a systematic review article (multiple articles on a single summary)  Link  (Links to an external site.) . you will need need to move into the evidence-based practice process by crafting your PICO-T statement about your proposed PDSA project.

To complete Phase 1 you will need to prepare your individualized IHI QI Project Charter by downloading the document from the Resources Module

1)    Single Article/Systematic review Article references APA Format within the Project Description section of the Charter tool;

2)    PICOT statement specific to this project noted in the AIM section of the Charter tool;

3)    Outcome, Process Measures should be outlined in the tool with a reference to an existing measure resource like AHRQ, NDNQI or State/Local QI data benchmark;

4)    Change Ideas section of the Charter tool should have ideas for at least the first and second cycle improvement  remember small changes.
