1. You will respond as if you were a parent in the classroom. You will thank your new teacher for his/her introduction letter and tell them what you are most excited about with this change in leadership.

PEERS POST:

Hello Families,

My name is Crystal Smith, I’m a mother of four beautiful children of my own would I LOVE and CHERISH!!! I will be stepping into a leadership role within the next month. I have been in this classroom with your children the entire year, so they are familiar with me. A little about myself, I have worked with early childhood as an associate teacher for the past eight years, and I find it a pleasure to be asked to continue my journey while working as a lead teacher within the class. I currently have my CDA (Child Development Associate) and working on finishing my B. A .in early childhood, which is expected to graduate in 2024 from the program.

The curriculum will continue to be the same, which is the creative curriculum using this curriculum gives teachers the opportunity to connect with children, and families as one, and according to the NAEYC it encourages you to “establish relationships with families based on mutual trust, respect, support, and to involve families into their children’s educational growth, invite families to fully participate in the program” (NAEYC 2005). A creative curriculum also helps families to engage in learning experiences, and information data, and strengthen the partnership that we have with families.

Family nights and “spring” parent/teacher conferences are still scheduled. One thing that we will be including is asking for volunteers to help with reading month. I will be sending home a volunteer form which I will need to be filled out and return a.s.a.p. in case you would like to sign up and read to the children. Communication through the “Kambyu” app is still a source where if there is anything you are concerned about or just want to check in on the progress of your children you will still have access to that.

This transition should be smooth for all (myself, children, and families). I’m excited to finish off the year strong and begin familiar with the classroom help with that because I already have a bond with the children. By my director giving me the opportunity, I feel so honored, and I won’t let her down, children, or families. We will finish this year out with a BANG! "Allowing children to fill confident when learning new things Children who see themselves as highly valued are more likely or feel secure to thrive physically, get along with others know well, and feel part of a community"(NAEYC 2005).
