Problem-Solution – Heirs Rights
I. Introduction: Many family's have heirs property or have a story about heirs property. Research conducted in 2017 found that 11% to 25% of properties in Georgia is probable heirs property. Heirs property is the legal term defined in Georgia law, but it goes by many names, such as Family Land, Tangled title, and Grandpa's land. Heirs property is something that is found all over the world. It can be found in rural and urban Georgia and that includes
i. Heirs rights/property mostly refers to property that as been passed down informally from generation to generations.

i. Heir property refers to land that has been passed down from generation to generation. A lot of the times it involves land owners who died without a will that specifically states who their property will go to. Without this will the property automatically makes the property go to the closest blood relative.
c. Main point
i. Protects individuals and families who may not know they have inherited land or a home
ii. It doesn’t go far enough. Advocating for yourself is a type of privilege.
iii. It limits selling of property. Settling up credit and debts.
