· The Family Support Services for Addiction Act of 2021 (H.R. 433), introduced by Representatives David Trone of Maryland 6th District is to stablish a grant program for the community to provide financial support for individuals and families that struggles with drug abuse.
· This program will help many families across the nation with support groups, training, education, and prevention programs.
· This Act includes 25 House of Representatives. Currently this bill is in the first stage of the legislative process.
· David Trone is the main sponsor, a representative for Maryland's 6th congressional district. Democrat.
· I chose this Act because family addiction is one of the main problems faced by governments and healthcare providers. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people fighting alcohol and drug abuse has increased dramatically. From promotion to rehabilitation, nurses have always played a vital role. Nursing assessment is the cornerstone of identifying and providing support to the community. Because the nurse is the first to evaluate the patient and establishes a trusting relationship with the patient and sometimes with their family.
