This assignment provides students with the opportunity to showcase their in-depth knowledge in areas of community development or international humanitarian assistance and development by demonstrating their understanding of the relationship between core theoretical concepts and practical realities.
Students will explain the concept of work integrated learning (WIL) and investigate the role and purpose of WIL in higher education based on their practice placement experience in their chosen field of practice. The argumentation will address benefits of WIL as well as challenges encountered in WIL. Students are expected to draw on academic theories and frameworks and may make reference to their personal placement experience where relevant.
The essay must contain a main thesis/argument and make use of a paragraph structure, providing clear sub-arguments that support the main thesis/argument.
