Haydens Discussion:

The days of showing up to you office in business casual attire are slowly coming to an end. Businesses are extremely reliant on IT to the point where I barely even use a printer anymore. Everything is becoming cloud based and new systems for completing work faster and more efficiently are being developed and implemented every day. I current work in logistics and if my computer goes down or I have a power outage I am put at a complete standstill at work. Software development, Big systems data engineering and mobile application development are all rapidly growing career fields.

I feel the best glimpse of our reliance on IT 15 years down the road was the massive shift to teleworking. Many companies will not switch back to traditional office settings and are saving money by no longer having to lease large buildings and continue to have employees telework if viable. As IT improves home networks will become faster and more secure which will allow leaner more efficient work p[processes and money saving opportunities for large businesses and allow employees the freedom to work wherever they geographically please without worrying about commutes to work or having to live in congested areas.  Has anybody noticed any down sides to teleworking?
